In the early hours of September 2, 2023, 38-year-old Anthony Derrell Young was fatally shot during an argument in Midfield, Alabama. The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. in the 1200 block of 8th Avenue. Upon arrival, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies found Young suffering from a gunshot wound; he was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
