On September 24, 2023, 39-year-old Jacqueline "Jackie" Marie Best was found deceased in her Montgomery, Alabama, home following a fire. Emergency responders arrived at the 3500 block of Fairground Road around 5:30 a.m. An autopsy later revealed that Best had died from a gunshot wound, prompting authorities to classify the case as a homicide.
