On January 21, 2024, 23-year-old Jaylan Jawan Howard was fatally shot in Phenix City, Alabama. The incident occurred in the 1900 block of 13th Avenue. Howard was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:13 p.m. Following the shooting, his body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science in Montgomery for an autopsy.
