On June 17, 2024, at approximately 11:57 p.m., Montgomery Police Department officers and Fire Medics responded to a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Eastern Boulevard, situated between Monticello Drive and East Shirley Lane. Upon arrival, they discovered 27-year-old Montgomery resident Darius Gunn with a fatal gunshot wound to the head; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
