On August 17, 2024, 35-year-old Aubrey "Mackie" Jackson was found deceased from a gunshot wound along Appleton Road near the Conecuh County line in Brewton, Alabama. The Escambia County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a man lying beside the road shortly after 9 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies and investigators determined that Jackson had been fatally shot, initiating a homicide investigation.
