In the quiet city of Auburn, Alabama, a grim discovery was made on the evening of September 5, 2024, at a residence on Payne Street. Betty T. Neely, an 88-year-old woman, was found deceased in her home alongside her 92-year-old husband, Dr. William C. Neely. The couple was discovered by police officers who were conducting a welfare check at the home.
