In the spring of 2015, a brutal act of violence on a Washington, D.C. street set in motion a tragedy that would end a man's life months later. On the morning of May 10th, 65-year-old Santos Garcia was visiting a friend in the 300 block of Franklin Street NE. As he stood in a doorway, he was suddenly and viciously attacked by an unknown assailant who proceeded to rob him. The attacker fled with a small amount of cash, leaving Mr. Garcia beaten and injured.
