On July 30, 2016, Judonne Stephens, a 25-year-old resident of Northeast Washington, D.C., was shot while in a vehicle on the on-ramp of Southbound I-295 near Suitland Parkway, SE. The shooting occurred at approximately 2:28 a.m. Stephens was critically injured in the attack and was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on July 31, 2016.
