In the pre-dawn hours of August 10, 2016, the life of William Lassiter, a 52-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short on a street in Washington, D.C. The fatal encounter unfolded at approximately 1:47 a.m. in the 900 block of Mount Olivet Road in Northeast D.C.
