In the pre-dawn hours of August 10, 2016, the life of William Lassiter, a 52-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short on a street in Washington, D.C. The fatal encounter unfolded at approximately 1:47 a.m. in the 900 block of Mount Olivet Road in Northeast D.C. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the location, where they discovered Lassiter suffering from the consequences of gunfire.
