On August 13, 2016, Gary Thompson, a 19-year-old resident of Maryland, was shot and killed in the 1400 block of V Street, Southeast Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 12:35 PM, and police officers arrived to find Thompson suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
