She was a White female, thirty years old, known in Manley Hot Springs as Joyce Henifer Klein, and on May 17, 1984, she vanished along the Tanana River during a spasm of violence that would scar the tiny Interior Alaska community. Records place her living and buried in Manley Hot Springs, and community memorial pages remember her as one of the townspeople lost that week, noted simply as “age 30” and gone on that mid-May day.
