On December 25, 2003, Officer John Patrick Watson of the Kenai Police Department in Alaska was fatally shot while assisting the Alaska State Troopers in locating a vehicle of interest. The troopers had requested help in finding a silver Ford Excursion driven by a suspect who appeared intoxicated and agitated.
