A white man named Kenneth Defrancesco, age 80, died on August 28, 2022 in Anchor Point, Alaska, of what authorities classified as an accidental gunshot wound. He was found by a friend who had come to check on him after he failed to respond to text messages and phone calls during the day.
The Alaska State Troopers responded to a home on Shorebird Lane in Anchor Point, after being alerted to a reported death.
From their investigation, it appeared that the fatal shot was discharged when a firearm that Kenneth was carrying fell out of its holster as he was exiting his vehicle. The weapon then fired, fatally wounding him.
Troopers determined he had died sometime during the previous twenty-four hours. There were no signs of foul play. His body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy to confirm details.
There were no arrests, suspects, or indications of intentional harm in connection to his death. Authorities considered it an accident caused by negligent discharge.
