On March 25, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., 18-year-old Gabriel Demor Edwards was fatally struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Hueytown Road and Walker Avenue in Hueytown, Alabama. The driver fled the scene without rendering aid. Edwards' body was discovered the following morning around 6 a.m., surrounded by car parts, indicating a hit-and-run incident.
