On April 8, 2024, at approximately 7:22 a.m., deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting at 3620 Avenue C in Fairfield, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 47-year-old Roger Harris lying unresponsive on the ground, suffering from gunshot wounds. Fairfield Fire and Rescue transported Mr. Harris to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
