Death by Force

On April 27, 2024, at approximately 5:45 p.m., 36-year-old Dexter Antonio Buchanan of Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally shot during a reported assault in Center Point. The incident occurred near the intersection of 5th Street Northwest and 16th Court. Upon arrival, deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office found Buchanan with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:03 p.m.
