On December 28, 2023, at approximately 4:55 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a house fire in the 1000 block of Westley Street in Birmingham, Alabama. Firefighters from the Tarrant Fire Department arrived promptly, extinguished the flames, and rescued 44-year-old Otis Jones Jr. from the residence. Jones was transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
