Marcus Hill, 59, a Black male from Brookside, was killed on November 7, 2023, after a shooting at the Parkway Inn motel, also identified in later records as the Roadway Inn & Suites, at 9225 Parkway East in Birmingham’s Roebuck area. Police and Birmingham Fire and Rescue were sent there just before noon on a report of a person shot, and when officers reached the third-floor balcony, they found Hill lying unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
