On May 5, 2023, at approximately 11:40 a.m., the Talladega Police Department conducted a welfare check at a residence on Howell Cove Road. Upon entry, officers discovered 43-year-old Johnathan Vann Boyd deceased, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. His body was transported to the Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy.
