On May 5, 2023, 43-year-old Johnathan Vann Boyd, a Black male from Talladega, Alabama, was found deceased in his residence on Howell Cove Road. Concerned for his welfare, officers from the Talladega Police Department had gone to his home to conduct a check. Upon entering, they discovered Boyd had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
