On June 16, 2023, 16-year-old Kentrel Jah'mar Miller was fatally shot in the parking lot of Western Hills Mall in Fairfield, Alabama. At approximately 3:20 p.m., Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the mall located on Aaron Aronov Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered Miller suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
