At approximately 3:30 p.m., Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of gunfire in the 300 block of Valley Road. While en route, they were informed that a male had been shot, according to Sgt. Joni Money.

Horn, a resident of Fairfield, was transported to UAB West Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m.
