On February 10, 2022, at approximately 9:45 a.m., deputies from the Talladega County Sheriff's Office responded to the Crown Service Station on Old Birmingham Highway in Oak Grove, Alabama, following reports of a possible robbery. Upon arrival, they discovered 27-year-old store clerk Sri Satya Krishna Chitturi unresponsive inside the store. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. An undetermined amount of currency had been taken from the store.
