On August 21, 2022, 25-year-old Trenton Medders of Ohatchee, Alabama, was fatally shot during an incident in Jacksonville. Police responded to a domestic disturbance call around 10:30 p.m. at a residence on the 1500 block of Rochester Road SE, where they found Medders suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate first aid efforts by officers and paramedics, Medders succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
