On October 29, 2021, 25-year-old Samone Lashundra Newell of Fairfield, Alabama, was involved in a fatal car accident in Birmingham. Around 1:25 a.m., the vehicle in which she was a passenger lost control and collided with a building in the 1600 block of Warrior Road. Both Newell and the driver were transported to Princeton Baptist Medical Center, where Newell succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
