On October 29, 2021, at approximately 1:25 a.m., 25-year-old Black female Samone Lashundra Newell of Fairfield, Alabama, was involved in a fatal car crash in Birmingham. She was a passenger in a vehicle traveling eastbound on Warrior Road when the driver lost control, causing the car to collide with a building at 1625 Warrior Road.
