On August 5, 2021, 29-year-old Kristan Bell of Oxford, Alabama, tragically lost her life in a four-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 280 near Chelsea. At approximately 7:15 a.m., Bell was driving her 2006 Honda Civic when it was struck by a 2018 Ford F-250 driven by 22-year-old Allen Montel Barefield of Sylacauga.
