On January 16, 2021, 74-year-old Michael Ryan Berry was discovered critically injured in the 1200 block of Hanover Street in Tarrant, Alabama. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on January 19, 2021. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified Berry as the victim of the assault.
