On the evening of October 27, 2019, at approximately 8:30 PM, Tarrant police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of Forest Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 34-year-old Steven Wayne Riley unresponsive in his pickup truck, which had collided with another vehicle. Riley, a resident of Adamsville, Alabama, had sustained gunshot wounds and was immediately transported to UAB Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly before 3:00 AM on October 28.
