On a Saturday evening in Tarrant, Alabama, a dispute turned fatal, leaving one man dead and another facing a capital murder charge. Lee Crosby Tetter, a 57-year-old male, was discovered deceased in his vehicle on June 1, 2019, the victim of a gunshot wound. The grim discovery was made in the 1200 block of Elizabeth Avenue, where Tarrant police and fire medics responded to a call and pronounced Tetter dead at the scene.
The investigation into the homicide quickly pointed to a domestic
altercation as the motive. Authorities identified Stanley E. Allen, who was 58 years old at the time, as the primary suspect in the shooting. According to investigators, an argument between Allen and Tetter escalated to a tragic conclusion when Allen fired at Tetter while he was seated in his car. This act of violence, committed while the victim was inside a vehicle, elevated the severity of the charge under Alabama law.
The day after the fatal shooting, on Sunday, June 2, 2019, Stanley E. Allen was apprehended by the Tarrant Police Department. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.
