On October 7, 2021, 34-year-old Travis Hutchins was fatally attacked by another inmate wielding a weapon at Bibb Correctional Facility in Brent, Alabama. The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) confirmed his death, stating that their Law Enforcement Services Division was investigating the incident. Hutchins was serving a 20-year sentence for a murder conviction at the time of his death.
