Eric Alexander Gunn Jr., a 23-year-old male, was fatally shot on the evening of Thursday, May 16, 2019, in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred at the Village Market in the 7700 block of Second Avenue South, where Gunn was an employee. The shooting, which was reported around 7 p.m., is believed to have stemmed from an altercation that began inside the store and escalated in the parking lot.
