On July 5, 2019, 25-year-old Zakia Bibbs of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was fatally shot in a suspected road rage incident on Interstate 20/59. Around 11 p.m., Bibbs and two passengers—a 22-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man—were traveling eastbound near mile marker 96 when an SUV, possibly a dark-colored Nissan Pathfinder, approached with high beams on.
