On September 25, 2021, at approximately 9:37 a.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person down in the 3900 block of Mineral Avenue Southwest. Upon arrival, they discovered 61-year-old Marion Reynolds Jr. lying unresponsive in the street, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Reynolds was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner.
