On July 19, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot at 928 Erie Street in the Wylam neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama. Upon entering the residence, they discovered 47-year-old Lapez Reddrick lying unresponsive in the dining room. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. The exact cause of death was not immediately determined, but foul play was suspected.
