A woman is found dead in a sleeping bag
Patricia Lorraine Barnes was found dead in a sleeping bag in a ditch on the 15000 block of Peacock Hill Road in South Kitsap the morning on Aug. 25, 1995. She’d been shot in the head and her body was stuffed into a sleeping bag. Pink curlers were found near the body. Barnes, a Seattle transient, was rumored to be one of the victims of serial killer Robert Yates. But the sheriff’s office couldn’t confirm that finding and the case remains an open homicide.
