In the early hours of September 2, 2024, a tragic event unfolded in the Renton Highlands of Washington. Merly Tahiry Herrera Moreno, a 20-year-old Hispanic woman, was the victim of a fatal drive-by shooting. The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. near the intersection of Northeast 6th Street and Shelton Avenue Northeast. Moreno was a passenger in a black Toyota Prius when she was struck by a gunshot to the chest.
