On October 24, 1988, Geraldine S. Holland, age 36, was found shot to death in the front yard of a friend's residence in Brunswick County, Virginia. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area the previous evening, between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. Holland’s body was discovered the next day, and investigators believe that she may have known her attacker, though no arrests have been made.
