On January 31, 2024, in Vinton, Virginia, 53-year-old Nikki Fox Sweeney was found deceased alongside her husband, 57-year-old Anthony Sweeney, in their home on Laurel Glen Road. Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The Roanoke County Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a possible domestic situation involving the couple.
