A woman's body is discovered on an off-ramp to I-495
In the winter of 1990, the discovery of a young woman's body in a Fairfax County storm sewer began a mystery that has lingered for decades. Carolen Marie Wallace, a 22-year-old white female from Forestville, Maryland, was found on Valentine's Day by a highway worker off an Interstate 95 ramp. An investigation by the Virginia State Police revealed that she had been deceased for several days, the victim of a single gunshot wound to the head.
