A realtor is found shot to death at Busy Bee Realty
On August 14, 2003, Joan Wood Weigelhofer, a 59-year-old Caucasian female, was found tragically murdered inside her real estate office, Busy Bee Realty, in Gum Spring, Virginia. Her life was cut short by a single gunshot from a. 40 caliber handgun. The discovery was made by her daughter, Jennifer Waldrop, who also worked at the realty office. Friends and family described Weigelhofer as a joyful, hardworking, and loving mother and grandmother who always put others before herself.
Investigators believe that Weigelhofer likely knew her assailant. There were no signs of forced entry into her office, suggesting she may have willingly let her killer in. It was considered out of character for her to admit a stranger into the office while she was alone. She was last seen alive by coworkers between 3 and 4 p.m. on the day of her murder.
