A woman is murdered, placed in a green canvass military style bag, and left in a ditch
On January 16, 1991, the body of 21-year-old Karen Ann Wheeler was discovered inside a green military-style duffel bag along General Booth Boulevard in Virginia Beach. Her body was found by a construction worker in a wooded area less than a mile from the Virginia Marine Science Museum. Wheeler had been missing since November 29, 1990, and her death was ruled a homicide after authorities determined she had been strangled.
