An elderly woman is found beaten to death
On the evening of July 15, 1988, 80-year-old Anastasia Christou returned to her home on 25 Half Street in Virginia Beach, Virginia, a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean. This was the last time she was seen alive. The next day, her son discovered her severely beaten in her home, where she succumbed to her injuries. Investigators determined that force had been used to enter the home while she slept, and theft was considered a possible motive for the crime.
