On August 14, 2005, 18-year-old Mary Rachel "Shellie" Carson was found brutally murdered in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Her body was discovered near a traffic circle at Kings Grant Road and Newcastle Road, just half a mile from her home. Shellie had been out earlier that night, captured on surveillance footage at a 7-Eleven at 3:50 a.m. She was last seen alive around 4:06 a.m. riding her bicycle, but by 6:08 a.m., a motorist discovered her body.
