A young man is shot in his home during a robbery attempt
On April 9, 2003, 21-year-old Bryan Mace was found dead in his home on Elk Run Road in Midland, Virginia. His stepfather, Carlo Bertelli, discovered his body when he returned to the house to find it filled with smoke from a fire. Upon entering the home, Bertelli found Bryan's body covered in clothing and realized that his stepson had been shot in the head.
