In what has been described as a targeted and isolated incident, 31-year-old Hyungjoon Choi, a male resident of Reston, Virginia, was fatally shot on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, while he was working out at a Gold's Gym in his community. The tranquility of the fitness center was shattered at approximately 1:13 p.m. when a gunman approached Choi and opened fire, striking him in the upper body.
