Two Virginia Tech students are found dead in the parking lot of a state forest
On August 26, 2009, David Metzler, age 19, and his girlfriend Heidi Childs, age 18, were tragically murdered at Caldwell Fields, a remote area in Jefferson National Forest in Montgomery County, Virginia. Both were students at Virginia Tech and were visiting the isolated location, often frequented by students, to spend time together.
