Two Virginia Tech students are found dead in the parking lot of a state forest
On August 26, 2009, 18-year-old Heidi Childs and her boyfriend, David Metzler, both students at Virginia Tech, were tragically murdered while on a date at Caldwell Fields, a remote area in Jefferson National Forest in Montgomery County, Virginia. The couple arrived at the parking lot around 8:25 p.m., and within the next 90 minutes, they were shot and killed.
