In the late hours of March 10, 2010, the sound of gunshots pierced the night at the intersection of 27th Street and Nine Mile Road in the East End of Richmond, Virginia. Responding to the sound, police officers discovered 26-year-old Gavin Darius Pollard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
