In the late summer of 1982, a young Hispanic male named Miguel Antonio Hernandez, aged 18, had recently made a new home in the Salt Lake area, having moved from Santa Ana, California. Originally from El Salvador, he came to Utah to live with his cousin, Emeterio Melgar Hernandez.
