Manuel "Babe" Garcia III, 45, was last seen in the early hours of August 5, 1980, after a night out with friends at Johnny’s Disco Bar in Salt Lake City. Following the bar's closure around 2:30 a.m., Garcia and his friends attended a private party in Rose Park. Witnesses reported seeing his silver Thunderbird parked near the Jordan River Parkway with two men inside around 8 a.m. The vehicle was later impounded on August 7 after being found abandoned.
