An argument turns deadly In the early hours of Valentine's Day in 1982, the life of a young Caucasian man, 22-year-old Trent R. Olsen, was tragically cut short in Salt Lake City, Utah. The night began at a local establishment, the One More Time Club, where Olsen was reportedly involved in an argument with two men. This initial confrontation set the stage for a fatal encounter later that morning.
Following the dispute at the club, the conflict escalated and moved to a nearby park, the Cottonwood Sports Complex.
There, in the cold of that February night, the argument turned violent. Olsen was stabbed multiple times. Despite his grave injuries, he managed to get into his Corvette and attempted to drive away, likely in a desperate bid for help. However, he only made it a short distance before crashing into a telephone pole across the street. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after at a local hospital.
The individuals involved in the altercation with Olsen fled the scene. They were described as three darker-skinned males with dark hair. They were seen leaving the park in two different vehicles: a white Japanese compact sedan, possibly a Datsun or a Toyota with distinctive red-painted rims, and an American-made car, thought to be a Monte Carlo or a Camaro.
To this day, the case remains an unsolved homicide. No arrests have been made, and the suspects have never been officially identified.
